My Chinese Heart 

I am very interested in the history of China and the CPC, especially the stories about the CPC taking the reins to lead the Chinese people with Chairman Mao Zedong as the guide. From China's historical evolution, I can see that Chinese people are not afraid of hardship, instead, they are willing to make sacrifices, as they are very loyal to the country and its leaders. Those stories encouraged me to study hard and dare to innovate. I really admire the modern and advanced concepts of the CPC. In real life, I adjust my behavior and cultivate my fighting spirit in accordance with the strict requirements of the CPC. For example, I always ask myself to set a good example for my students, to share ideas, knowledge and experiences with others, and to strive for progress through hard work.

During my academic and professional career, I had the chance to get to know about Chairman Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, Thoughts of Three Represents, Scientific Outlook on Development, General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Thought on Economy, Ecological Civilization, etc. Having witnessed China's development, I truly applauded the guiding principles of China's development and the results achieved in practice. China's theoretical construction ensures the advanced nature of China's development and the correctness of China's path. I learned that an enlightened and powerful government is the fundamental guarantee of the successful and sustainable development of a country, this has reinforced my admiration for the governance capacity of the CPC.

During my stay in China, I have witnessed China's development in society, politics, economic, culture and technology and many other fields. When the Shanghai-Kunming Express railway (the section from Changsha to Huaihua) opened, I was invited to be one of the first passengers to experience the "China Speed" winding from the far east to southwest of China. Moreover, the high quality of China's high-speed railway has been able to spread rapidly and take hold around the world, securing China’s science and technology strength a leading status in the world, and showing its strong national power. Faced by the COVID-19 epidemic, the Chinese government made a strong decision, daring to sacrifice the temporary economy for the benefit of people's lives and long-term development. From central government to local governments, from city to countryside, the day-to-day affairs and administration of the whole country have been carried out efficiently without interruption for the well-being of the people. It fully reflects the priority given to the interests of the people by the Chinese government. The CPC makes enlightened policy proposals that are followed by the people for their well-being. A majority of people remained in voluntary quarantine to facilitate the task of the heroic medical personnel, allowing a rapid recovery of China in the face of such an epidemic, which again impressed the world. By learning Chinese history and ideology, witnessing China's development and experiencing Chinese people’s moral quality, I have been making persistent efforts to improve myself. The enlightened and shared ideas in China continue to help me pursue positive values. It also cultivated my fighting spirit and my braveness.

Gohi Bi Foua Claude Alain, an Ivoirian scholar, came to China to study the Chinese language in 2010. After obtaining his PH Degree in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology in 2018 at Xiangtan University, Hunan Province, Alain became a visiting scholar at Temple University, US. He has been teaching English, French and Chemical Engineering at Panzhihua University, Sichuan Province since 2018.

Alain has received great outcomes in scientific research projects. His project relating to high-quality construction of industrial transfer was listed as one of the major projects sponsored by Panzhihua Social Science Fund 2020. As a copy editor of International Journal of Materials Science and Applications (IJMSA), Alain has published more than 20 research papers on international journals including Polymers, Bioingineering, Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, American Scientific Publishers, ect.

He is rewarded with Chinese government scholarship for 6 consecutive years, and named "Distinguished Overseas Student in Hunan". Alain is also keen on charity and has been offering monthly support to UNICEF program in funding the delivery of essential services and care for children in need.
