"China-Africa Cooperation for Sustainable Development" International Seminar was Held at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa

On December 6-7, 2019, the "China-Africa Cooperation for Sustainable Development" international seminar was held at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.The Seminar was jointly hosted by the China Africa Institute(CAI) and the African Union Commission, and co-organized by the International Cooperation Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Economic Affairs Department of the African Union Commission.Chinese representatives from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other institutions, and foreign representatives from the African Union, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, UNCTAD, UN Environment, UNESCO. More than 300 people from various institutions including the African Capacity Building Foundation and Government Agencies, Research Institutions, and the Business Community from more than a dozen African countries, including Ethiopia, Kenya, and Nigeria, attended the seminar.

 During the Conference, the CAI has initiated the implementation of the “Sino-African Sustainable Development Exchange Mechanism” to support China-Africa Cooperation Research, Special Training Courses, Highly Symposium and other activities, which has opening up the new channels for the institutionalization of China-Africa Think-Tank Exchanges. It will provide intellectual support for building a much closer China-Africa community of the destiny.
