Introduction
In 2013, the Chinese government put forward the "Belt and Road" Initiative, providing a large amount of investment for infrastructure construction to promote the development of the region along the "Silk Road". In view of the fact that the Middle East and Africa play key roles in the implementation of the "Belt and Road" Initiative, the Renmin University of China gathered experts and scholars from China, the Middle East and Africa, and officially established the Center for Middle East and African Studies in 2014 under the support of Sino-Israel Global Network & Academic Leadership, with the goal of cooperating to promote effective development of geo-economics and geopolitics in the region and helping people learn more about the complex situation of the region.
The center is committed to promoting the academic circle's understanding of the Middle East and Africa, including the development of regional relations and the prospect of hot issues, and aims to promote effective interaction between scholars of China and those of the Middle East and Africa, and provide a platform for cross-regional academic exchanges and cooperation.
