The book “The African Open Independent Development(OID) and the China-Africa Prodution Cooperation Under the Belt and Road Initative” is a study on African development issues. After a comparative analysis of various areas of African development issues, the book proposes that "Open Independent Development" is the main characteristic of the African development path since the 21st century. The two pillars of " Open Independent Development " are joint self-improvement and the establishment of multilateral partnerships. "Open Independent Development" is to seek open cooperation in a market way. The following concepts such as “developmental state”, “authoritarian government”, “inclusive development” and “sustainable growth” all can be understood in the context of “Open Independent Development”. "Open Independent Development" has greatly improved the development environment in Africa and laid the foundation and created conditions for Africa to achieve rapid growth for many years. China has long been playing a leading role in international cooperation with Africa. The formation and development of "Open Independent Development" path cannot be separated from the role of China. “China-Africa Community with a Shared Future”is the foundation for China to build a new type of international relations in the new era. The "One Belt, One Road" initiative will inject momentum into China-Africa cooperation in the new era. Chinese experiences in development issues have important reference value for African development. China-Africa production cooperation should be linked to Africa's “Open Independent Development” path in the form of “all-round cooperation plus key breakthroughs”.
