On December 14, 2021, Wang Xiaoming, Vice-President of China-Africa Institute was invited to meet with His Excellency Simon Pierre Adovelande, Ambassador of Benin to China, Dr. Meng Jin attended the meeting.

Wang Xiaoming, on behalf of Prof. Li Xinfeng, Executive Director of China-Africa Institute, extended sincere greetings to His Excellency and invite His Excellency to give a Lecture for the Ambassador Lecture. Wang Xiaoming introduced the position, function and cooperative mechanism of China-Africa Institute. And hoped that Beninese scholars would participate in the China-Africa joint research projects. At the same time,  Wang Xiaoming introduced the publication project of the series of books "China and Xi Jinping in the Eyes of Ambassadors" to His Excellency, and invited him to participate in the writing.  

H. E. Mr. Simon Pierre Adovelande said that the China-Africa Institute is an important platform for promoting people-to-people relations between the African and Chinese peoples, and the Embassy of Benin to China and the Government of Benin are willing to cooperate closely with the China-Africa Institute in the future. Ambassador also pointed out that 2022 will be the 50th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between Benin and China, and hopes to review and look forward to the bilateral relations between Benin and China through the Ambassador Lecture.

In addition, the two sides also conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as youth exchanges, cooperation in the field of women, poverty alleviation experience, and online academic seminars.
