As the Chinese people celebrate the traditional lunar New Year, the novel coronavirus pneumonia which broke out in Wuhan,  spreads across China and infected some other countries. As China’s long term friends, African countries and people are very concerned with the development of the epidemic. From the southernmost country of rainbow, South Africa to Egypt, an ancient civilization nation in the north; From Ethiopia, where the African Union Headquarters is located in the East Africa, to Nigeria, a country with the largest population and highest GDP of Africa, and Ghana, a friendly country in the West Africa, the leaders and people of these countries have expressed strong moral supports and medical supply assistance to the Chinese people.

Recently, H.E. Mr. Paul the Treasurer-General of the South African ruling party ANC highly appreciated the Chinese government's ability and measures to fight the epidemic of the novel coronavirus infection. The local South African epidemic prevention equipment company quickly and proactively organized transportation to China's epidemic area. Eleven hospitals have been properly arranged to treat patients. Hon. Mr. Zwelini Lawrence Mkhize, Minister of Health of South Africa issued several statements to praise and support the leadership of the Chinese government in responding to the epidemic. The Zimbabwean government has allocated $ 5.2 million to support the fight against the spread of the novel coronavirus. H.E. Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, President of Nigeria, through a government spokesman’s statement, expressed his full support for winning the fight against the epidemic, and the country paid tribute to the special actions of the Chinese people. The government of Equatorial Guinea had donated US $ 2 million to the Chinese government to support China for fighting against the pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus. H.E. Mr. Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister of Ethiopia sent an official letter of condolences to President Xi Jinping, and at the same time took necessary measures at the airport to prevent the epidemic from further expanding.

African people and Chinese people stand together. The Comoros, Senegal and the Republic of Central Africa have supported China in fighting the epidemic. The Ministers of Health of the DRC, Niger, Côte d'Ivoire and Sudan praised China's people's war with the novel Coronavirus pneumonia throughout the country. During a visit to Africa this month, the UN Secretary-General and the 2020 United Nations rotating chairman hosted the press conference at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, praised that China has made significant efforts to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus pneumonia.

We are actively assisting in Africa's local epidemic propaganda and information transmissions, pay attentions to the development of the deadly coronavirus his/her country of the continent, and actively exchange measures. Aiming at different people mobility patterns and transportation in and out characteristics, we have observed and assisted the specific country's epidemic control and development. Our colleagues are willing to share the successful experiences in controlling the epidemic in Africa from China. For relatives studying and working in Wuhan, we have supported them to cooperate with the local communities and work hard to fight the novel coronavirus infection. We are linked to the hearts of Wuhan, Hubei Province and the Chinese people.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The people of China and Africa join hands as a whole to overcome the coronavirus infection epidemic in Wuhan. China-Africa cooperation will present unprecedented glory.
