Experts from China-Africa Institute Participated in the Symposium of Anti-Corruption Workshop of Kenyan Parliament’s Delegation

  On the afternoon of July 10, 2019, a group of 24 members of the Anti-Corruption Workshop of Kenyan Parliament’s delegation headed by Ahmed Shakir Ahmed Shabir, a member of Kenyan National Assembly, visited China Anti-corruption Research Center, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and made a symposium.

  The meeting was held in the Institute of Sociology, CASS. Wang Jingqing, Vice-President of CASS, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group of CASS and Chairman of China Anti-corruption Research Center, presented the meeting and made the speech.  He introduced the research situation of the CASS and the China Anti-corruption Research Center.  He expressed his hope that the two sides will keep in touch, strengthen exchange and cooperation in the anti-corruption research, expand the fields of cooperation and deepen mutual trust in order to promote the friendly development of China-Kenya relationships.  Shabir pointed out in his speech that since Kenya’s independence, China has been Kenya’s strongest partner.  China has made significant progress in the work of anti-corruption and he hoped to strengthen the cooperation among China-Kenya anti-corruption agencies.  The symposium was hosted by Wang Xiaoxia, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Discipline Commission and Executive Director of China Anti-corruption Research Center, CASS.  Mu Linxia, Party Secretary of Institute of Sociology, CASS, Researcher Wang Chunguang, Deputy Director of Institute of Sociology, Researcher Wang Lincong, Vice President of China-Africa Institute and Deputy Director of Institute of West-Asian and African Studies (IWAAS), CASS, Researcher Zhu Weidong and Associate Researcher Liu Naiya from IWAAS participated in the meeting at the invitation.

  During the interaction between the two sides, Vice President Wang Lincong and Researcher Zhu Weidong exchanged views with the members of Kenyan Parliament on the issues of China's non-interference policy, construction of "green project" and "clean project", business activities of Chinese enterprises in Africa and China-Kenya anti-corruption cooperation.  Associate Researcher Liu Naiya introduced the situation of China-Africa Institute to the members of Kenyan Parliament.
