Abstract: After the launch of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum (FOCAC) mechanism in 2000, China-Africa relations have witnessed a good momentum of sustained and rapid development. Africa has become more integrated into and an inseparable part of the diplomatic and development strategies of China. At the Johannesburg Summit of the FOCAC in 2015, leaders of China and Africa unanimously agreed to upgrade China-Africa relations to a "comprehensive strategic partnership." At present, China's relations with Africa have entered a new era featured by transformation and upgrading. The new era calls for a new thinking, a new action and a new atmosphere. It is imperative to speed up operations and formulate China's strategy for Africa within the overall framework of China's national strategy or international strategy.
